Every year CES — the most influential tech event in the world — attracts media and social media attention. There were more than 2300 inspiring booths, each of them presenting spectacular new technology. Here are some inventions that media covered this year.

BMW’s color-changing car, which has become a viral sensation on social media. How does it work? “Relying on E Ink, the electronic paper technology used in e-readers, and the old Pebble watch, the color-changing paint technology is making its debut on a concept version of the BMW iX that is being presented at CES.” — writes The Verge (1).

A ship on the LED sea. That is right Hyundai Heavy Industries Group has surprised Las Vegas with a autonomous boat in their booth. The company “was illustrating its future vision focused on green technology for shipping mobility, autonomous navigation and an offshore hydrogen value chain.” — writes Las Vegas review-journal (2). Inside the booth visitors were invited to play a virtual reality navigation simulation game or look at robots with various functionalities.

Smart contact leses. My favorite since I wear lenses for a long time now. The product is in early stages. The Mojo Vision idea is that this product will “use an embedded display to show notifications, serve as a teleprompter, and even help people with poor vision move about.” — writes Wired (3).

Washing clothes in space. Have you ever thought how astronauts wash their clothes? Me neither. Well washing clothes in space was not a thing until Tide thought of doing so. “In collaboration with NASA, the brand just sent a prototype detergent called Tide Infinity up into orbit. The unscented, fully degradable formula is safe for a closed-loop water system like the one used on the ISS. Over the next few months, experiments will test the efficacy of key dirt- and odor-fighting ingredients in space.” — writes Wired (4).

And of course Ameca — the life like looking robot. Designed by the Engineered Arts company in the UK “doesn’t walk (yet) but can have conversations and discussions with people.” you can watch an interview with a robot in this link: https://newsus.cgtn.com/news/2022-01-08/Watch-our-interview-with-Ameca-a-humanoid-robot-at-CES-16E2I9GaOkM/index.html

Of course there was much more 2300 booths are a lot for media to cover. Let me know in the comment section what was your favorite, what would you add to the list?
